About Us

(SD&CC) was established in 1971 as a State organization by an extra ordinary gazette notification of 29th March 1971 under the State Industrial Corporation Act No. 49 of 1957 to undertake heavy civil engineering construction works.

State Development & Construction Corporation (SD&CC) falls under the purview of Ministry of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities.

SD&CC plays a major role in the development of Sri Lanka, specially in the upliftment of Infrastructure Construction. Various major engineering projects in the fields of Construction such as bridges, roads, highways, dams, irrigation determent schemes, hydro power tunnels and power houses, water supply and treatment works, multi storied buildings have been successfully completed by SD&CC.

The Corporation is rated as a Grade One (M1) Contractor under Grading Scheme conducted by the Institute of Construction Training and Development (ICTAD), the National Regulating Body of Sri Lanka.

SD&CC is the leading local organization capable of constructing long span bridges, under design & build basis.
